This summer the accent is obviously on minimalism and comfort. This style is also found at the level of the feet, where the strappy sandals are clearly the IT shoes of summer 2020. But what other types of sandals are trending? If you asked yourself this question, join me to discover a close-up look on the prettiest summer sandals:
1. Squared Toe Sandals
If until two years ago the pointed toe was trending, things took a different turn last year when the squared toe appeared in the fascinating fashion universe. And so, it was possible to notice how the pointed toe was replaced slowly by the squared toe. Which is great, because the squared toe is easier to walk into than the pointed toe, and we get back to the topic of comfort that I mentioned at the beginning of this post. To my squared toe sandals, I added a gorgeous white summer dress and a perfect bag with raffia inserts.
2. Gladiator Sandals
Gladiator sandals are not new to the fashion scene, but they keep coming back every summer. The success of this type of footwear? Comfort. In addition to the lightweight component, they are very versatile. From long or short dresses to shorts paired with a casual top, gladiator sandals can be added to a lot of outfits. My recommendation? Don't lift them by crossing them upwards on the leg, but tie them around the ankle instead. You'll thank me later (actually, this is how gladiator sandals are worn this summer).
3. Strappy Sandals
As I already mentioned at the beginning of this post, these are the IT sandals of the summer. Minimalism is a very popular trend in design at this time and it’s applied whenever possible. The minimal themes are very appreciated; you can see this for example on a web page. Confusing and tedious web designs were quickly replaced by minimal ones. I personally love this trend!
4. Artsy Heeled Sandals
I couldn’t find a proper name to define the type of heels that are trending this summer. Two of the most popular ones are those with hourglass heels or those with curved heels. Personally, I love it! There is no better way to stand out than to wear such a pair of shoes. Below, I have selected some sandals that might inspire you too.
With or without heels, these sandals are very popular this summer. They are also your best friends when it comes to elegant, office outfits. They are the definition of the classic raised to the level of modern. If you choose to wear such shoes, my recommendation is to go for classic shades that don't go out of style: white, beige, brown, or black. You can find some very nice mules below.
