I could start by saying “Brace yourselves - winter is here”, that it is freezing cold outside (at least here in Bucharest), blah, blah, blah. Or I could go straight to the topic by specifying exactly the coats you need this winter to keep you warm. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. Below, I will share a list of the most practical and versatile winter coats you can wear. And I will give you some suggestions to inspire you as much as I can. 🙂 Stay with me to find out what they are the best winter coats to keep you warm.
1. Puffer Coats
There is no surprise, puffer coats do really keep you warm. Overall, this is the first option that comes to my mind when someone asks me what jacket would be suitable for winter. And it's the type of coat that I normally wear when temperatures drop below 0 degrees Celsius. A little tip: choose a dark-colored puffer coat. From my experience, I know they get dirty pretty quickly.
2. Double-Sided Jacket
This jacket has the advantage of having a faux shearling interior and thus, it keeps you very warm. Moreover, it has a modern look (it derives from the leather jacket in some cases) and it is super versatile - you can pair it either with pants or a skirt. Below, I selected a few models of jackets that really caught my eyes.
Parka is already a winter symbol, if you ask me. In its specific olive shades, this jacket is a suitable candidate for protection against cold. Due to its style that tends to be casual, I would recommend this type of jacket if your style is also casual. Personally, this type of jacket does not suit my style, since it is rather feminine.
4. Faux Fur Coat
A classic piece in any woman's wardrobe, the faux fur coat is a reliable ally throughout the winter. The opposite of a parka jacket (which denotes a casual style), the faux fur coat is elegant, feminine and goes gracefully with any feminine clothing piece (including an evening dress, for example). Below, I chose a few coats that I literally adore.
5. Wool Coat
I continue the series of elegant winter jackets by introducing to you the wool coat. Woolen garments are good thermal insulators because they adjust the body temperature by absorbing and releasing moisture. Additionally, they have this elegant, office look.
6. Water-Resistant Jackets
Let's not forget about water-resistant jackets! They are a safe investment because they have a double advantage: they protect against cold and do not allow water to get into the fabric. On top of that, they can be found in a rich variety of colors and patterns, which means they can suit every person's tastes. Below, I have selected some of my favorite models.
