There are a lot of things to say about Sibiu, but one of its biggest features is its stunning architecture. Medieval, chic and enchanting, this city from Romania is remarkable due to its rich history and to its humble people. Stay with me to find how the whole experience was in Sibiu, where and what we ate and what places we visited.
HOW WE GOT THERE
We arrived in Sibiu by coach bus from Bucharest. Initially, we wanted to travel by train, but there weren’t any available tickets anymore when we wanted to book the places. Of course, the coach bus and the train aren’t the only means of transport that can be used to go to Sibiu. You can use a car or you can get there by the plane.
WHERE WE STAYED
We stayed at Green Life Sibiu Apartments. I made a tour of the room and I also showed you some gorgeous pictures on my Instagram stories. The whole place was incredible. And charming. And splendid. The room had a vintage vibe and it made us feel like we were part of a story. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to come to Sibiu. Bonus tip: the coffee was given us for free.
WHAT WE VISITED
You cannot come to Sibiu and not visit the cultural center. Actually, this was the main attraction during our trip. The streets full of colorful houses, the Large Square, the Little Square, the Council Tower and the Bridge of Lies were some of the attractions that we visited. We also took a stroll on the Cetatii street, also known as the most beautiful street from Sibiu. Since we made the trip during festive season, we also visited the Christmas Market. The colorful and chic little houses, the magical lights, the appetizing food and the unique handmade stuff were very pleasant. Oh! I almost forgot to mention one unique feature of Sibiu: the roofs of the houses! They have that special construction that look like an eye on the roof. Very clever!
WHAT WE ARE
I recognize: we delighted ourselves during our trip. From steaks to pizza, the whole culinary trip was delicious. My recommendations: Benjamin Steakhouse and their savory Texas cheeseburger, La Taifas restaurant and their amazing chicken with peppers, Tango restaurant and their incredible mediterranean chicken (expect for a huge serving!).
Even though we visited Sibiu during winter, is a city that can be visited at any time of the year. The people are sincere and gentle, the architecture is stunning, the food is very tasty and the whole experience will be memorable.
